Gleeson Homes signs deal with MukAway

MukAway has secured an agreement with Gleeson Homes, one of the UK's most significant volume housebuilders, with onboarding already underway across three regions.
The deal represents one of the most substantial partnerships in MukAway's history and marks a further shift in how major housebuilders are approaching material management, waste compliance and commercial efficiency at scale. Gleeson Homes, headquartered in Sheffield and listed on the London Stock Exchange, specialises in delivering well specified high-quality affordable homes across the North and Midlands of England.
With a turnover of £348 million and an ambition to reach 3,000 annual completions, the business operates across multiple regions simultaneously making compliant, efficient and auditable material management a commercial imperative across its portfolio of live sites.
Under the agreement, Gleeson Homes will have access to MukAway's full platform capability, including Direct Material Transfer between sites, Merchant Waste Acquisition for classified waste material, and the Merchant Product Sale function.
This will enable direct procurement of processed aggregates, recycled stones and fill and recycled MOT through the platform. All transactions are documented, fully auditable and stored for a minimum of ten years, providing Gleeson Homes with a complete and compliant material trail across every project.
MukAway's team is working directly with Gleeson Homes to embed the platform across their regional operations, ensuring comprehensive adoption and active transactions from the outset. Gleeson Yorkshire, East Yorkshire and the North-East will be the first regions to upload sites to the platform.
Fraser Linaker, CEO and Founder of MukAway, said: "Gleeson Homes is the perfect group-level partner that accelerates everything we are building as a business and platform. It operates at serious scale, and is committed to doing things properly. It understands that material management done well is both a commercial advantage and a sustainability win.
“Three regions are onboarding now. The industry is no longer asking whether platforms like MukAway work, businesses of this calibre are implementing them because the commercial case, the compliance case and the ESG case are all undeniable. This is a landmark moment for MukAway and a significant signal for the sector."
Scott Robinson, Major Projects Director at Gleeson Homes, said: "The commercial logic behind MukAway is straightforward: it reduces cost, removes inefficiency and gives us genuine control over material movement across our sites.
“But it goes further than that. The compliance piece gives us confidence that every transaction is documented, auditable and defensible, and the ESG benefits of reducing unnecessary haulage and landfill dependency are directly relevant to our sustainability commitments as a business.
“We are a volume housebuilder with serious growth ambitions. At the scale we operate and the scale we are heading towards, having a single platform that manages this end to end is not a nice to have; It is a commercial necessity. MukAway delivers that."
The Gleeson Homes partnership follows a period of significant commercial momentum for MukAway. The platform's subscriber base continues to grow rapidly as housebuilders, contractors, developers, civil engineering contractors and recycle yards across the UK recognise the commercial and compliance benefits of a single, connected material management solution.
