MukAway launches full end-to-end material exchange platform as merchant product sale function goes live

MukAway has completed its full product rollout, enabling housebuilders and developers to both dispose of surplus material and procure processed aggregates through a single, compliant, and auditable platform.

MukAway, the North West-based construction technology platform specialising in material exchange, has announced the launch of its Merchant Product function which completes a full end-to-end solution for material and waste management across the UK housebuilding sector.

The new functionality allows verified Merchants to list processed materials directly on the platform, with developers receiving automatic notifications when relevant products become available.

Materials including recycled aggregates, sand fill, recycled MOT, recycled 6F2, 6F5, concrete, ashphalt and a range of processed stone grades are now available for procurement through the platform, with full compliance documentation stored against every transaction.

This is great news for all our subscribers, in particular civil engineering partners who are very active in this market.

Alongside this, MukAway presents its Merchant Waste Acquisition Workflow, which enables developers to list surplus or classified waste material, including soils assigned European Waste Catalogue (EWC) codes, for collection and treatment by licensed Merchants. Together, the two workflows create a complete circular economy for subsoils, topsoils and aggregates on UK construction sites.

Fraser Linaker, CEO and Founder, MukAway.com, said: “We set out to build a platform that solved both sides of the material problem on a construction sites - surplus soil going out and quality aggregate coming back in. With the Merchant Product Sale function now live, that is exactly what MukAway delivers. Every scenario is covered on our platform and we’re the first in the country to do it. That means every transaction is compliant, and every document is stored for over ten years. This is the platform the construction sector has needed."

The announcement coincides with MukAway's appearance at the Home Builders Federation (HBF) SME Developer Seminar 2026 at Novotel London Blackfriars, where Fraser Linaker and Business Development and Marketing Director Ian Cheveau presented the platform to an audience of SME housebuilders, funders and investors alongside HBF Chief Executive Neil Jefferson.

The platform's Soil Classification Framework underpins both workflows, enabling contractors and developers to define material type, volume and quality at source before any movement takes place. This approach reduces unnecessary haulage and landfill disposal, supports planners and regulators with auditable data, and provides the commercial clarity required for confident decision-making across project teams.

How the Platform Works

MukAway operates across three core transaction types:

Direct Transfer

  • classified material shared directly between sites where classification permits reuse without waste designation.

Merchant Waste Acquisition

  • material classified as waste is listed with its EWC code; the system automatically notifies appropriate licensed waste facilities, who submit a price covering haulage and treatment directly to the developer.

    Merchant Product Sale

  • Merchants list processed materials for sale; developers procure directly through the platform with haulage costs included and full compliance documentation stored on completion.

  • Supported by our Extensive Geo-Environmental Services

In all cases, a commission is paid to MukAway by the Merchant.

All compliance documentation, including Waste Acceptance Criteria (WAC), Waste Transfer Notes (WTN), invoices and delivery tickets, are uploaded against each transaction and stored securely within the platform for a minimum of ten years, providing developers with a complete and auditable material trail.

Ian Cheveau, Business Development and Marketing Director at MukAway, said: “The conversations we had at the HBF seminar confirmed what we already knew which is SME housebuilders are under real pressure on cost, compliance and programme. MukAway removes the friction from all three. The platform now does everything it needs to do, end to end, and the response from the market has been immediate."

MukAway is headquartered in Warrington and serves housebuilders, civil engineers and groundworks contractors across the UK. The platform is available on a subscription basis, with existing subscribers able to access the full Merchant Product Sale and Waste Acquisition workflows immediately.
