Young Climbers Conquer Snowdon in Inspiring Charity Challenge for St Rocco’s Hospice

Last weekend, MukAway supported a powerful community initiative as a group of children aged just 10 took on the challenge of climbing Snowdon, one of the tallest mountains in the UK.

Facing strong winds and freezing temperatures, the young climbers showed remarkable resilience, determination, and teamwork as they made their way to the summit.
What stood out most was not the difficulty of the climb, but the mindset of the children taking part. In true MukAway spirited they 'mucked together' and got the job done.
What started with warm to mild temperatures, soon turned to difficult conditions the further they climbed. But step by step, they supported one another through the toughest sections of the climb, demonstrating courage and resilience far beyond their age.
Reaching the summit together marked an incredible achievement that none of them will forget.
The climb was organised in support of St Rocco’s Hospice, which provides essential care for patients and families across the region. Together with their families, the children raised an impressive £1,335, helping to support the hospice’s ongoing work.
MukAway, based at Birchwood Park, has committed to donating £60K to the hospice over a three year period. Our company is proud to have supported this initiative as part of our ongoing commitment to meaningful community engagement.
This challenge follows a growing series of community-focused initiatives supported by MukAway, including school-based fundraising activities and leadership challenges that included Fraser Linaker jumping out of a plane at 10,000ft.
MukAway is incredibly proud of every child who took part. Their achievement deserves recognition across the wider community and beyond.
Gemma Linaker, CSR Director at MukAway, said: "Watching the children support each other through such challenging conditions was incredibly moving. The children really dug deep for each other and conquered the mountain. We are so proud to have been part of something that will stay with them for life, while also supporting such an important local charity.”
Fraser Linaker, CEO at MukAway, said: “At MukAway, we believe in stepping outside comfort zones for a greater purpose. Giving back is something we just do in our business. These children did exactly that and more. Their determination on Snowdon reflects everything we stand for as a company: courage, community, and action that makes a difference.”
